Family readiness.
Norte helps families get ready for the moments that matter — organizing the documents, medical details, and decisions that caring for someone you love depends on, long before a crisis makes them urgent.
The hardest time to get organized is the moment you need to be.
When a parent has a health scare or a spouse can no longer manage alone, families scramble for documents no one can find, decisions no one wrote down, and logins no one shared. Norte turns that scramble into readiness — quietly, while the seas are still calm.
A verified vault
Powers of attorney, directives, IDs, and account details — organized, encrypted, and masked. Sensitive numbers stay hidden behind a PIN or Face ID until you reveal them.
A readiness score
Norte doesn't just store your documents — it tells you what's missing. A clear score for every person you're preparing for, and the next step to close the gap.
Your care circle
Bring in siblings, a spouse, or a caregiver with the exact permissions you choose. Everyone stays in the loop without anyone oversharing.
Medical, in one place
Conditions, medications, allergies, and providers — ready to hand to an ER, a new doctor, or the family member covering this week.
A shared calendar
Appointments, therapies, and visits across the whole circle, so the person covering Tuesday knows what Monday already handled.
Care facilities
Research and compare nursing, home-health, and hospital options with real quality data — before you have to decide in a hurry.
Readiness you can actually prove.
Anyone can say they're prepared. Norte shows it — a living record of what's in place, what's verified, and what still needs a signature while it still counts.
Add who you're preparing for
Yourself, a parent, a partner. Norte builds a readiness picture for each person in your circle.
Fill the gaps, guided
Upload documents and Norte reads them for you. The score rises as the essentials fall into place.

Named for the instrument that found the way home.
A balestilha — the cross-staff — was the simple wooden instrument mariners once held to the horizon to find their latitude and steer toward Norte: true north. With little more than that, families crossed oceans and found their way home.
We built Norte for a different kind of crossing. Caring for someone you love — a parent who's aging, a spouse who's ill — is its own uncharted water, and most families set out with no instruments at all. Norte is the instrument: a way to take your bearings, chart the course, and know you're ready before the weather turns.
Proof, not just authority. Not a promise that you're prepared — the proof of it, in your hand when it matters.
Why I built Norte

In the summer of 2024, a neighbor's daughter messaged me on Facebook — an account I barely use — to ask if I knew what was happening with my parents. I didn't.
My mother had just been taken away by ambulance. My father was alone in their house, off his medication and so disoriented the neighbors had mistaken him for a stranger on their porch.
I grabbed two powers of attorney from a lawyer friend, booked a flight to Florida, and told my job I'd be back in a couple of days. I was gone four months.
I thought a power of attorney was all I needed. It wasn't. It needed a special notary. Then I learned I also needed a health-care surrogate — a document I didn't know existed. The banks rejected the POA. So did the mortgage company, the insurers, the pharmacy. I had no access to their accounts, their Social Security, their medications. I didn't even have their Medicare cards. And no one would tell me what I was missing.
My mother needed brain surgery. My father spiraled. I fought rehab centers that kept trying to discharge people who weren't ready to go. I did most of it alone — one sibling estranged, another a continent away — while selling the house and holding two terrified parents together. It cost me my job. Two years later, I'm honestly still not all the way back.
Halfway through, on the phone with my wife, I said the thing I couldn't stop thinking: No one should ever have to do this.
Every institution knew exactly what it needed. None of them talked to each other. There was no map. So I'm building the map.
It's called Norte — the North Star — and it does one thing: it helps families get the legal, medical, and financial pieces in place before the emergency, keeps them valid as laws and life change, and shares the weight so it never falls on one person alone. We're starting in Florida.
I'm not a hero. I was a victim of a system that isn't getting any simpler. I just don't want you to be.
